After You Say “I Do”
Marriage Enrichment Ministry

The After I Say “I Do” Ministry seeks to maintain the bond of marriage well after couples say “I do” through biblical teaching, fellowship, love and the rededication of husbands and wives to each other and to the Lord.

For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church. Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband. ~Ephesians 5:31-33

Ambassadors of Grace
Class Leaders

Your development as a disciple of Jesus, the Christ, is our greatest concern.  So, just as He worked primarily with a small group of 12, this congregation is broken into small groups named “Ambassadors of Grace.”  The leaders of these groups help with your discipleship development, and together we come to appreciate what it means to remain in Christ.  By participating in classes you will gain knowledge of how to walk in obedience to Christ, bear fruit, have joy, express your gifts, and love others.

You shall represent the people before God and bring their cases to God, and you shall warn them about the statutes and the laws, and make them know the way in which they must walk and what they must do.  Moreover, look for able men from all the people, men who fear God, who are trustworthy and hate a bribe, and place such men over the people as chiefs of thousands, of hundreds, of fifties, and of tens.  ~Exodus 18:19-21

Christian Education Department

The mission of the Christian Education Ministry is to establish standards and guidance for a unified program that educates, reconciles and nurtures the church and surrounding community unto salvation and discipleship in Jesus Christ.

Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. ~2 Timothy 2:15

Culinary Arts

Food is an important part of our church fellowships, the Culinary Arts Ministry prepares and serves healthy and balanced meals. It plans nutritious menus that lean toward being heart healthy dishes. The ministry also includes teaching parishioners how to prepare healthy food at home. The majority of Culinary Arts Ministry’s members are certified food handlers, and the director is a licensed chef.

Then God said, “I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food ~Genesis 1:29

Deaconess

A Deaconess is part of a very sacred appointment in the life of the church.  Her consecration calls her to the ministry of encouragement and support.  She’s to minister to the poor, visit the sick, pray with the dying, care for the orphaned, seek out the wandering, comfort the sorrowing, and be ever ready to take up duties that willing hands cannot otherwise be found to do.  A Deaconess shall also express the love and concern of the “Believing Community.”  While her duties are vital to the work of the pastor and local church, her work is unto the Lord Jesus Christ only.

We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, who are called according to His purpose.  ~Romans 8:28

Economic and Community Development

Focus will be on the development of businesses, services and or information that can address the needs of the Bloomingdale community.

Evangelism

The Evangelism Ministry is for those called to reconcile others to God by sharing the good news about Jesus who died on the cross for our sins in order to save the whole world.  This happens by calling lost sinners to repentance and nurturing their trust in Christ for salvation, sanctification, justification and everlasting life with God.  The ministry also equips and encourages believers to fulfill the Great Commission:

Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.  Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.  And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”  ~Matt. 28: 18-20

Hospitality

The Hospitality Ministry draws on the special ability that God gives to members of the body of Christ to provide (with a smile) open arms and a warm welcome to our visitors.  We believe every significant relationship starts with a sense of feeling loved, welcomed and accepted.  Here’s how the ministry operates:

  • The Welcome Team” – those with strong interpersonal skills and a willingness to serve others – demonstrates friendship, love, kindness, encouragement and faith when interacting with members and visitors upon entering the church;
  • The Decoration Team” assists all ministries in beautifying the House of God for various events.
  • “The Usher Board”  greets members and visitors with a warm welcome, to seat them comfortably, and to assist in the collection of all offerings.

Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling.  Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.   If anyone speaks, he should do it as one speaking the very words of God.  If anyone serves, he should do it with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ.  To Him be the glory and the power for ever and ever.  Amen.  ~1 Peter 4:9-11

Homeless Outreach Workers

Homeless Outreach Workers minister on the streets and at shelters with full confidence that their steps are ordered by the Lord.  Members appreciate and trust the promises of God. So closed doors never stop us.  We don’t mind getting as low as we need to in order to feed God’s sheep – and behold Him while doing so.  We share what we know to be true: God will turn the darkness into light, and that joy comes after the pain.

He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.”  ~Mark 16:15

House of Prayer

The Vision: Lead the congregation to become a house of prayer.
The Mission: Encourage, teach, and provide opportunities for all members to commune intimately with God through different mediums of prayer.
The Strategy: Equip leaders of prayer to provide direction in the congregation that will help all ministry leaders and the congregation to make prayer a vital part of every endeavor.

And He said to them, It is written, My house shall be called a house of prayer, but you have made it a den of thieves. ~Matthew 21:13

Lay Aside the Weight

To help members and seekers to develop and promote healthy lifestyle choices through education, support, encouragement and motivation.

Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God?  You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.  ~1 Corinthians 6: 19, 20

Liturgical Dance

The mission of the Liturgical Dance Ministry is to edify the body of Christ by creating and promoting an atmosphere of praise and worship through God-filled dance.  Our ultimate goal is to be used as vessels of God to usher in the Holy Spirit, bringing all who witness and experience our praise in dance to a deeper communion with our Lord and Savior.

Let them praise His name with dancing and make music to Him with timbrel and harp.  ~Psalm 149:3

Men’s Fellowship

“Men with a prayerful focus empowered by God”

The Men’s Fellowship Ministry is dedicated to building a better relationship with God by deliberately engaging in positive exchange about personal spiritual matters.  Our focus is to be guided by the Holy Spirit in all the challenges and choices that we face, and we believe that prayer and scriptural fitness are necessary to do so.  Moreover, we understand the path that God has laid out for us so we can serve as examples to edify other men in the building of God’s kingdom.  Our hope and expectation are that other men will recognize that they also can attain the spiritual strength necessary to separate themselves from the distractions and influences of this world, and find the courage to join us in serving our mighty and awesome God.  Attaining status as men of God comes only through obedience to His word and His way.

“How blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, nor stand in the path of sinners, nor sit in the seat of scoffers!  But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and in His law he meditates day and night.  He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in its season and its leaf does not wither; and in whatever he does, he prospers.”  ~Psalm 1:1-3

Brother, do you desire to empower yourself in God?  Then join with us in the empowerment journey!

Missionary Society

In the Missionary Society we keep our minds and hearts open for the purpose of being God’s servants, demonstrate our love for Him by doing what He instructs us to do in the home, church, community and the world.

For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many. ~Mark 10:45

Music

The Music Ministry shares the gospel of Jesus Christ through song while leading the congregation in praise and worship of Him.  By delivering the Word of God through song, the ministry allows those with the gift of music to use it for God’s purposes, which are to adore Him, encourage believers in the faith and draw to Christ those who don’t know Him.

Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee. ~Psalm 67:3

Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business. ~Acts 6:3

Women’s Ministry

The Women’s Ministry serves women and girls, and aims to empower them with:

  • opportunities for study;
  • opportunities to apply the fundamentals of Christian living;
  • opportunities to realize their value to God, their families, their church, their denomination and the world;
  • opportunities to deliver the message of hope and salvation;
  • opportunities to grow in Christ and preach, teach, minister to, support, mentor and offer the salvation of Christ to women and girls who are not saved, saved and sliding backwards, or unsure;
  • opportunities to partner with and edify other Christian women and girls in their walk with the Lord; and
  • opportunities to be effective helpmates to men and boys as they properly assume their God-given roles in leadership and faith in Jesus Christ.

Each objective and goal is demonstrated in our monthly fellowship activities.

How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!
It is like precious oil poured on the head, running down on the beard,
running down on Aaron’s beard, down on the collar of his robe.
It is as if the dew of Hermon were falling on Mount Zion.
For there the Lord bestows his blessing, even life forevermore ~Psalm 133:1-3
